An important part of life as a church is finding ways to bless and serve the community around us – it’s also a great way to meet new people and get stuck in! Different community outreach events are run on an ad hoc basis – Keep an eye on our events page!
The prayer chair is a safe place where anyone can come to experience God’s love, truth and peace. Quite literally, it’s just a few chairs set-up in the busyness of everyday life (usually in the street), to offer people the chance to come and sit, be still, and know that God is real, and experience His amazing love for them.
We go out every Saturday, into Brighton centre, offering the opportunity for prayer, no strings attached. Please contact the church offices for details of times and locations, and to find out more about our vision and values, please check out prayerchair.org
Carpenters Arms – Every 4th Sunday 2pm – 4pm.
In partnership with St Luke’s Prestonville, we run a drop in at St Luke’s for anyone who is homeless or vulnerably housed. The church is open from 2pm for tea, coffee, board games, movies etc. There is usually a brief talk, and a delicious hot meal served at 3pm. We always need helpers, willing to help prepare the meal at 1pm at St Lukes. If you would like to get involved through helping to cook, serve food, or wash up, or would like to speak to someone and find out more about what’s involved, please email email@example.com.
In the build up to Christmas each year we offer a free gift wrapping service to shoppers in the Churchill Square shopping centre, so next Christmas roll up your sleeves and get practising with the sellotape! Always an amazing time, with lots of interesting conversations with shoppers and a great response in general from the public. Watch the events page for details nearer the time.
