House Groups

One of the first things that Jesus did was to start a small group. He trained a group of ordinary people into effective disciples who later impacted the community around them with the Good News about the Kingdom of God.

We encourage everyone who belongs to our church to attend a weekly house group. House groups are a place where we gather to learn more about Jesus, ourselves and each other. We worship, spending time in God's presence and seek to minister to each other's spiritual, physical and emotional needs. In short, at house group our goal is to be the church rather than simply go to church.

Joining a house group is the best way to get involved in what God is doing at Brighton Vineyard. The atmosphere is relaxed, friendly and informal. There is the opportunity to learn more from the Bible and to find out how to 'do the stuff' - ministering to others in the power of the Holy Spirit. It's also the best way of getting to know other people in the church.

Various groups meet every week throughout Brighton & Hove. There are flyers with details and maps on the information desk at church, and you can read about the house group leaders on our notice board. You can just turn up, or phone the house group leaders first to let them know you are coming.

Each house group naturally has a different feel to it and often people try out different groups to see which one suits them best. As with church, we have a big front door and a big back door - nobody will mind if you only go to their group once.
