Brighton Vineyard Church was started as a small group in February of 1999 with the vision of growing a regional church that would be contemporary in its feel, relevant to people, and able to move in the power and presence of God. We wanted a church that says “come as you are”, that people of all nationalities and all socio economic and religious backgrounds, might be able to come and explore the person of Jesus.
We believe that Jesus is relevant to our culture, and that if he was walking around Brighton today, people would find him attractive and interesting. We believe that many would have their lives radically changed by meeting him.
We have people coming to church who would say that “not in a million years” would they ever have seen themselves as Christians. The reason they come is the reason anyone comes; they have found Jesus to be real.
It always amazes me that God has chosen ordinary people to do extraordinary things for him. Our church is endeavouring to do those extraordinary things, because we believe that Jesus can change lives. He offers us not only His love, acceptance and forgiveness for all we’ve done wrong, but also redemption. In other words He lifts us out of the mess, and actually changes us.
So whatever your understanding of Christianity please feel free to come along. If you feel messed up, don’t let that stop you coming, you’re in good company! Come as you are and let God reveal Himself to you, and His amazing plans for your life.
God bless you,
Chris and Natasha Simmons
