An important part of life as a church is finding ways to bless and serve the community around us – it’s also a great way to meet new people and get stuck in!  Different community outreach events are run on an ad hoc basis - keep an eye on our events page!

Regular events:

Carpenters Arms – Every 4th Sunday 2pm – 5pm.

In partnership with St Luke’s Prestonville, we run a drop in at St Luke’s for anyone who is homeless or vulnerably housed.  The church is open from 2pm for tea, coffee, board games, movies etc.  There is usually a brief talk, and a delicious hot meal served at 3pm.  We always need helpers, willing to help prepare the meal at 1pm at St Lukes. If you would like to get involved through helping to cook, serve food, or wash up, or would like to speak to someone and find out more about what’s involved, please email office@brightonvineyard.com.

Christmas Wrap

In the build up to Christmas each year we offer a free gift wrapping service to shoppers in the Churchill Square shopping centre, so next Christmas roll up your sleeves and get practising with the sellotape! Always an amazing time, with lots of interesting conversations with shoppers and great response in general from the public.  Watch the events page for details nearer the time.

Samaritan’s Purse

Operation Christmas Child is the world’s largest children’s Christmas project, run by the Christian charity Samaritan’s Purse.  They have been sending gift-filled shoeboxes around the world since 1990, bringing joy into the lives of over 80 million underprivileged children.  We encourage memebers of Brighton Vineyard to get hold of an empty shoebox and fill it with gifts, which will end up helping a child in need to tangibly experience something of God’s love through a simple Christmas gift. Giving a shoebox gift is really quite simple,  you wrap and pack it, Samaritan’s Purse check and send it, and their in-country partners deliver it.  Simple!  It starts in your hands and ends up in theirs.  Keep an eye out for details nearer the time and come get involved!
